Dr. Bhuminand Devkota Participated in 2017 ADSA International Conference

Dr. Bhuminand Devkota, a faculty member of Department of Theriogenology and Coordinator of Post Graduate Studies Center of the University participated in 2017 American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) International Conference in Pittsburgh, USA, from June 22 to 28. In the meeting, he presented a paper entitled “Some factors affecting the response of treatment with novel hormonal protocols in anestrus water buffaloes”.

The 2017 ADSA conference was a great scientific platform represented by the dairy scientists from more than 80 countries and had 1389 abstracts presented through more than 20 thematic symposia, posters and oral presentations.

The paper Dr. Devkota presented was a only paper from Nepal and about Buffalo. Thus, it did represent not only Nepal but also buffalo, and received a big applause from the participant scientists. The focus of the paper was the role of nutrition and stress factors in addressing the problems of anestrus in dairy buffaloes during transition to poor breeding season by using progestin based hormonal protocols.
